Often called spirit lights, orbs are quite mysterious and many high profile
paranormal investigators are keen to find out more about this extraordinary subject. They were
first photographed by American researchers about ten years ago. They appear as tiny flashing
pinpoints or globules of soft, mystical light, and they can move either by quickly flashing along
bearing a tail like a comet or by slowly floating or hovering. They vary in size, color, speed
and quantity. They are thought to be life forms from the spirit realms that wish to communicate
with us and appear in this way in order to reserve the large amount of energy that is required for
materialization. They are often seen around the hands or heads of healers and on closer examination,
even the smallest orbs often have patterns or faces within them. If you would like to try to
photograph an orb, it is best to go to a place where spirits are likely to congregate, such as a
holy site. Ask your spirit guide to invite the orbs to appear. At first you might see delicate
whisps of light or smoky mists and then the light orbs might appear. As they seem to be attracted
to flash photography, use a flash even if it is a clear sunlit day. This is due to the process in
physics known as fluorescence. The camera flash sparks this fluorescence process, making the orbs
visible to the camera.'
Klaus Heinemann, a NASA research physicist found that orbs can move very fast, up to 500mph.
He has made an extensive study of the phenomena and found that during numerous dual camera
experiments, when he used twin cameras to capture an orb from two different angles, a single orb
shape would often appear - but only in one of the two images taken simultaneously. It was as if the
orbs chose which camera to appear on, or whether to appear at all. Eventually, he was left with
only one conclusion: that he was witnessing an intelligent being. He stated: 'There is no doubt in
my mind that the orbs may well be one of the most significant outside of this reality phenomena
mankind has ever witnessed'. 'Until now, there has been a huge amount of hear-say and speculation
that the spirit world exists. I believe it's no longer anecdotal. Research into orbs is only in its
infancy. But the photographs of these spirit emanations offer evidence - as close to scientific
proof as we have ever come - in proving the existence of spiritual reality. Thanks to digital
technology, we can see it for the first time. We are dealing with a non-physical - albeit real -
phenomenon'.
An increasing number of respectable scientists admit the possibility that orbs might offer
a verifiable and repeatable way to study spirit communication. If so, it could have big implications
on the way we view the universe and our role in life. The orbs appear to be plasma-like balls of
energy - but an energy that can be detected by physical means, and which appears to have some
control over its own shape and form. The experts say that just because something has not yet been
scientifically proven, it doesn't mean that it is not real. Absence of evidence is not evidence of
absence.
'Most great discoveries throughout history have been initially ridiculed,' says Miceal
Ledwith who is a member of the International Theological Commission at the Vatican and has collected
over 100,000 orb pictures. 'To my mind, there is no doubt that the orb phenomenon deserves to be
taken seriously. There are not just a few pictures that could easily be faked, but hundreds of
thousands from all over the world. They come in sizes ranging from a few inches to several feet
across,' he says. 'Sometimes they appear alone, and at other times in their hundreds, and in colors
that range through the spectrum’. He is uncertain about what these orbs might actually be
communicating, but he has no doubt that they are some sort of paranormal apparition. 'I believe
they could be many things. They may turn out to be the spirits of those who have passed on, or, as
some spiritual teachers state, they might be spirits waiting to be born into a physical body. They
may also be, or represent, a host of other intelligences - from nature spirits to beings of pure
energy that have never been incarnated in a physical form.'
Take a typical case history of orb sightings. Sue is an ordinary middle-aged housewife but
she has always been a believer in life after death because when she was a teenager she heard the
voices of spirits several times. However, she was very amazed when she awoke in the early hours one
night to see bright pin pricks of light flying around her bedroom wardrobe. Within a few minutes,
more light spots arrived and they were bouncing off the ceiling and walls. Sue was very curious!
Her mother had recently died and Sue wrote a poem that was read at the funeral service to
ask her mother to return and prove that there is an Afterlife. Would you believe Sue’s mother has
returned in a very extraordinary way?
The dots of light that appeared that first night began to re-appear in their thousands,
covering an entire plain wall of Sue’s lounge with faces and flowers of all colors of the rainbow.
Sue explains, “There are several types of these light balls. The gentle ones hover slowly around and
others flash past leaving a trail. Some are tiny dots and there are also larger globules of light.
Both come in all colors and hues, including gold and silver”. Sue describes what it is like when
they arrive. She goes on to say, “I feel a comfort all over me, and a deep sense of love. It is as
though I feel all my deceased relatives are around me, even my pets that I had as a child come back
to visit me. Most of all I sense the presence of my mum, as though she is very close, helping me
get through my bereavement”.
The light spots appear to enjoy visiting Sue’s silk Buddha scroll on her lounge wall and
circle around it. “I think they are telling me I need to meditate” says Sue. “I also need to find
out more about what these light spots are for. They seem to like being photographed as they come
towards the camera for attention. Sometimes they flash past quickly, sometimes there is one alone
and sometimes the lights co-operate together to form a three dimensional picture.” Sue goes on to
say, “On one occasion they formed themselves into a waterfall, and on another occasion they became
a knight with a shield with the shining cross engraved upon it. When they group themselves together,
they form symbols, such as a silver arrow, a pair of glasses, a fish, and once they formed into a
unicorn.” “Sometimes, the spots have formed themselves into letters of the names of people who can
help me.
The spots of light emit a selection of crackling, tapping and high pitched noises. The more
of them that are present, the higher and more vibrant becomes the pitch of the sound. They sometimes
touch Sue’s body and she feels an enjoyable tingling sensation, like a very light pin prick.
On the first anniversary of Sue’s mother’s death, Sue’s family met to light a candle
surrounded by roses. When Sue’s sister had a severely ill daughter with a brain tumor, the spheres
moved around the young girl’s head and seemed to heal her. Certainly, the spots of light are very
friendly and they create a wonderfully joyous atmosphere. If Sue plays uplifting music playing, the
light spots spin and jump to the beat.
Sue believes the light sparks are intelligent and are working for the highest spirit
intentions. “My spirit guide has told me that they are Wise Ones from another dimension. They want
to assist our soul development. We must stop harming this planet.”
Addenda: Klaus Heinemann, a NASA physicist and Chair of the Eloret Corporation has researched
orbs thoroughly and believes they are "emanations from spirit beings". He explains in his recent book
"The Orb Project" (co-authored with Miceal Ledwith) that "they want to communicate...this has
implications for the way we view our world and physical death".
